How can you help employees to work more effectively from home?

Although many businesses are now open again post COVID-19 lockdown, it may still be the case that certain employees continue to work from home. This may be your choice as an employer to reduce operational costs or their choice as it fits in better with their lifestyle. Home working was something the majority of companies had to facilitate recently and was a new experience for them and their staff in many cases.

For some, this might have meant that working from home did not go quite as effectively as it could. If you feel like this as a business owner and have some staff carrying on with remote working now, you need to find ways to help it run more smoothly.

But what can you do?

Install a VoIP telecoms system

If you have been relying solely on contacting staff on their home landline or mobile phone via a traditional telecoms system, it might have been a frustrating process. A great tip to get everything running more smoothly going forward is to install a VoIP system in your business. VoIP phone systems make it much easier to stay in touch with staff from their desktop and aid excellent communication. Video conferencing features also mean remote working staff never miss that key meeting! When you add in remote working apps for smartphones and voicemail capabilities for when staff cannot answer the phone, VoIP is a great option to consider.

Set a working schedule

During the COVID-19 lockdown, you might have taken a more relaxed approach to when people started work or took breaks. This may though have meant no-one was around to deal with phone calls from customers or give you key figures when you needed them. To help avoid issues like this moving forward, make sure remote working staff have set hours and breaks as they would when in the office.

Give training where required

Remote working means that staff need to use a variety of packages to stay in touch or complete tasks. Platforms like Zoom, MS Teams and Drop Box are common examples of what we mean. Some staff though may still not feel overly confident on using this sort of tech. To help remedy this, make sure that any training they need is fully accessible.

Great deals on VoIP systems with The VoIP Shop

The great news about a VoIP telecoms network is that it requires hardly any training and can be used by staff almost instantly! For more details on the superb packages, we offer and how VoIP can help your staff get more done when working remotely, get in touch today.
